Artist's Comments

This is what I'm wearing to the '07 Irwindale, CA Renaissance Faire (also worn to the '06 Southern California Shriner's dance). It's all hand made except for the chemise. I'm of a mind to make a bum roll for it.

The plaid print isn't any particular set, believe me, I've checked!

what's the pattern you use for a bum roll? Or how do you make one? I'm just curious to know how, because I want to make one at some point.

I actually don't have a pattern for a bum roll. I'm thinking of just improvising it, maybe by making a muslin tube and stuffing it with something sturdy, with ties at the ends. It doesn't seem too complicated.

This is the only bumroll pattern that I've found online. It works pretty well. [link] Although, I've found that it does look a bit shelf like on smaller framed people or on lower class garments since you're not wearing a hoop so you will probably want to cut the width down a bit.
